Kate Leys

Kate Leys has been head of development at several companies including Film4, where she helped commission and develop some of the UK’s most successful feature films. For the last ten years she has built a career as a script editor working in feature films, during which time she has worked with many UK and international producers including Warp Films, See-Saw Films, Number 9, Bedlam, 42 and Raw TV; financiers including Film4, BFI, Creative England, Creative Scotland and the Irish Film Board; and a long list of film talent including John MacLean, Jesse Armstrong & Sam Bain, Bart Layton, Clio Barnard and Alice Lowe. She speaks regularly at festivals and industry events including the London Film Festival, The UK Screenwriting Festival, The Edinburgh Film Festival, Guiding Lights and Skillset. She has taught screenwriting at the Northern Film School and at the University of London, script development at the National Film School, and has been a visiting lecturer at Universities and film schools all over the UK.
