Brian Gormley

Brian specialises in advising on film and television financing and production, acting variously for production companies, financiers, banks and investors. From the moment a project is conceived Brian can advise on securing or acquiring the rights to the project; the contractual arrangements to finance and produce the project; and the distribution of the project around the world. Brian also advises technology and gaming companies and provide advice in relation to the promotion and advertising of consumer products. Elaine Gill

Elaine has over 20 years’ experience working in Irish film and television industry. Having begun her career in the entertainment advisory sector with PWC, she moved to banking in 2000, spending 10 years specialising in working with Irish based productions under the old tax incentive for film making in Ireland which was investor led.

She moved back into private practice in 2010 and works with Irish indigenous television and feature film production, European and international feature film co-productions, documentary both feature and series, animation both feature and series as well as high end incoming television production in Ireland.

Specialising in providing tax advice for the film industry Elaine’s areas of expertise include the operation and application of the Irish film tax credit, employee payroll taxes for cast and crew, VAT for productions and corporation tax considerations for production companies based in Ireland.

Elaine has exceptional working relationships built up over many years, with Screen Ireland, leading Irish media legal advisors, the Irish Revenue Commissioners, domestic and UK banks involved in the industry and the major completion guarantor companies.

Elaine is one of the most experienced professional advisors in the field with an understanding and appreciation of the specialist nature of the industry.

John O’Sullivan

John is a Risk Assessor with Media Insurance, an international insurance broker offering specialist services to all areas of the media industry, in particular film and television production. Media Insurance is a member of Media Insurance Network, an organisation of specialist insurance brokers throughout the world offering local assistance and guidance to clients. Media Insurance clients include RTE, Discovery Worldwide, Channel 4, Channel 5 and ITV.

John has been involved in the Production Insurance market since 1995, specialising TV, Film & commercials, placing covers production schemes for RTE, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky & Discovery, heads up the Irish office in placing cover for the Irish & UK Production sector and providing guidance on insurances.
