General statement

In order to become a successful applicant for a Screen Skills Ireland (SSI) course, you must provide your name and basic contact, financial and demographic information.

Financial information that is collected is used solely in relation to the payment of a course. Screen Skills Ireland fully respects your right to privacy and will not collect any personal information on this website without your express permission. Any personal information which you volunteer will be treated with the highest standards of security and confidentiality strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Acts, 1988 & 2003.

Collection and use of personal information

Personal information provided by you as part of this application is used by SSI and its associated service providers solely to operate the online payments service. In order to process a payment, your card details are provided to the payment services provider, Realex (www.realex.ie), the Merchant Bank Elavon (www.elavon.ie) and your bank. Card numbers are not stored on the SSI site.

SSI will collect other information deemed necessary to provide the service and will be stored by SSI.  SSI does not share your personal information with any other party except when required in accordance with legal and regulatory obligations. All such personal information provided will be held securely by SSI and will not be transferred or shared with any other third party without your express consent save as specified above.

Payment Policy

  1. Where an applicant has received formal notice that he/she has been successful in obtaining a place on a SSI course, he/she must pay by credit/debit card online within a specified time outlined on the offering email in order to secure a place on the course. Payments will be accepted in Euro.
  2. SSI reserves the right to refuse admission to a course if (a) the applicant has not met the selection criteria for the course or (b) payment has not been received prior to the specified date outlined on the offering email course start date.
  3. Where an applicant is unemployed he/she may be entitled to a reduction in the course fee. Please contact the relevant Training Executive who will advise on any fee reduction.  Proof of unemployment must be submitted in order to avail of any fee reduction.
  4. Where an applicant has received formal notice that he/she has been successful in securing a place on a SSI course and has requested to pay for the course through a company by invoice, a credit application form must be completed and sent to the Financial Executive within 3 working days of receipt of the place confirmation email. An invoice will be issued subsequently by the Screen Skills Ireland accounts department which must be paid within 30 days.
  5. Course Bookings cannot be made over the phone or by email. A potential applicant must become a member on the SSI website and apply accordingly.
  6. Application for a course online does not guarantee confirmation of a place.
  7. In the event of a cancellation by a successful applicant on a SSI course where full payment has been received, the following refunds will apply subject to the notice periods as set out below:
    • More than 5 days notice – full refund;
    • More than 3 and less than 5 days notice – 50% refund;
    • Less than 3 days notice – no refund.
  8. SSI may allow for refunds at its sole discretion in exceptional circumstances if a successful applicant is unable to take his/her place on a training programme or provide the minimum notification. A person seeking such a refund must apply in writing and set out the reasons/justification for the refund. Each application will be treated on a case by case basis and will be approved by the Screen Training Ireland accounts department having regard to the contents of the written application.   9. Where a refund has been granted, a successful applicant may transfer the fee to another course upon successful application. In this event please write to info@screentrainingireland.ie
  10. If a course is cancelled by SSI, course fees will be refunded in full.
  11. Programmes are delivered by SSI and through external individual industry practitioners, companies and organisations contracted by SSI. This collaborative approach to course design and delivery allows SSI the flexibility to anticipate and respond to emerging industry needs. All courses are delivered in the form of tutor training/practical training/master classes/residentials/one-to-one training.
  12. Courses vary in duration depending on the needs of the participants and required learning outcomes however courses usually range from half day to five day courses. In addition, some courses may be delivered over the course of a number of weeks or months.

Cancellation Policy
