Screen Skills Ireland, the skills development unit within Screen Ireland, is delighted to announce that the Post Graduate Diploma in Series Production is now open for applications via Springboard+. This is an exciting new advanced television production course, specifically for factual, entertainment and non-scripted television genres, that has been developed by IADT (Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art Design and Technology) with support from Screen Skills Ireland.

Developed and delivered by leading industry experts from Ireland and the UK, this programme is offered as a level 9 programme in the Department of Film and Media at the National Film School, named by Variety as one of the top film schools in the world. With support from all 3 Irish broadcasters, Screen Skills Ireland, Screen Producers Ireland, and several leading independent production companies.  This programme offers experienced TV professionals and returners to industry, (from all experienced pre-production, production or post production grades) the opportunity to realise their ambition to move to a senior producer level.

The series producer is the most senior contracted project manager role on a non-scripted TV production series. They are responsible for overseeing all stages of production and must exhibit real editorial and team leadership qualities. They must be highly skilled creatively, a strong people manager, overseeing all key decisions on deployment of resources, end to end concept realisation, and quality delivery to a constantly changing range of channels including terrestrial, SVOD, digital and social.

Having worked through modules that focus on the skills required to take up this senior role, creative development, production, online and management skills, students will then get an opportunity to apply those skills across multiple genres in single camera and multi camera environments, shadowing, work placements and through high level networking opportunities.
