Screen Training Ireland and Creative Europe MEDIA hosted an information day in January which focused on training opportunities offered by Creative Europe MEDIA for documentary filmmakers which can be accessed through the Bursary Award Scheme.
The information day gave an overview of European market and training opportunities, and featured presentations from and key European training programmes such as Eurodoc, Documentary Campus and IDFAcademy.
Speakers included Paul Pauwels, Director, EDN who gave a keynote on the European documentary landscape; Patrick Hurley, Head of Marketplace and Talent, Sheffield MeetMarket; Manuela Winkler, Head of Events, Documentary Campus; Maria Bonsanti, Head of Programme, Eurodoc; Meike Statema, Head of Education, IDFAcademy.
A highlight of the event was a case study of SCHOOL LIFE (IN LOCO PARENTIS) with Irish documentarians Neasa Ní Chianáin and David Rane and focused on the highs and lows of the development process, funding supports and training.
