Cork Film Festival 2016

Screen Training Ireland are delighted to announce their support of Alt. Fund and the Industry Documentary Day at Cork Film Festival 2016. The Festival takes place in Cork from the 11th to the 20th of November 2016.

Alt.Fund is Cork Film Festival’s brand new seminar for emerging film professionals which explores innovative and non-traditional models for financing your work and developing your audience.

From working with brands, nonprofits and creative agencies to lessons in targeting your audience and securing distribution, this session will revolutionise the way you think about getting your film financed and seen. Curated for newly established film professionals, this event looks beyond traditional models of film finance and opens a host of other ways to achieve your creative goals and expand your audiences.

The day is a mixture of interactive sessions, case studies, and a survey of recent developments in crowdfunding.This is an opportunity to experiment, to push the boundaries, to think about the way films are told and to present true life in bold and innovative ways.

Alt.Fund takes place on Thursday 17 November at 11am in the River Lee Hotel.

As Cork Film Festival continues to expand its focus on high quality Irish and International Documentary Cinema, the Industry Documentary Day a new flagship event brings together Irish and international industry leaders to discuss the landscape in which projects are conceived of, developed and distributed.

The packed day will address agenda-setting issues within the industry and explore the worlds of festival programming, the changing landscapes of commissioning and distribution and explore unique productions.

Doc Day seeks to inform, debate, inspire and connect through a range of panel discussions, case studies and talks which address the needs and interests of the documentary industry.  Importantly, the day offers participants and industry members the opportunity to network with industry leaders, peers and key figures from the international market-place.

To close out the day, Kim Longinotto, a paragon of documentary filmmaking will deliver a keynote address.
