Applications Open for Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Producing

Certified course from Screen Skills Ireland and TU Dublin provides up-and-coming film and TV drama producers with an understanding of the script to screen process.

Screen Skills Ireland, the skills development unit within Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, and TU Dublin are pleased to announce that applications are open for the third iteration of the highly regarded Advanced Producing PGDip. This level 9 certified, postgraduate programme for up-and-coming film and TV drama producers offers a comprehensive insight into the script to screen process, delivered by producer John McDonnell (Vivarium, Sea Fever, Song for a Raggy Boy) along with other experienced industry specialists.

Applications are open now via Springboard+ and close on Saturday 31 August 2021. Shortlisting and interviews will take place in September, for the course to start on Monday 11 October. The programme will encourage diversity and inclusion. Participants with experience and proven commitment from all walks of life that have a passion for film and TV are encouraged to apply.

The programme will cover several skills areas essential to a producer’s career development including the development process; financing; legal issues; budgeting and scheduling; production; post-production; management and negotiation skills; sales and distribution; festivals/markets and pitching.

The modules are structured to build the skills necessary for market-ready producers. Graduates will gain the skills, confidence, and connections to operate in the rapidly-growing international film and television industry, either in established production companies or to work independently in their own companies.
