First Cut! Youth Film Festival

First Cut! Youth Film Festival was launched as a one day event in 2009 to showcase new films by young filmmakers, with screenings, workshops and talks by film industry professionals. The success of the festival has seen it grow to a 3-day event, with almost 200 films submitted from all over Ireland and abroad.

The Festival features almost 100 short films in various categories and special programmes.

As well as screenings of works by young filmmakers, the Festival includes workshops, performances, panel discussions and Q&A sessions in the Mall Arts Centre and in a variety of other locations throughout the town during the Festival.

First Cut! Youth Film Festival is programmed and facilitated by Cork Film Centre, with core funding from Cork County Council Arts Office and the Arts Council of Ireland.
