Course Profile:

The working landscape has been changed dramatically by the Covid-19 pandemic. This change has offered Vectorworks the opportunity to accelerate their plans to offer an online, flexible training solution.

Vectorworks have kindly offered to run four free online, tutor led, training sessions for Irish crew registered on the Screen Skills Ireland database in 2021.  Each session will enable eight participants, per course, to avail of this training and they will run the training quarterly.   The next courses will run in April/May, August/September, and Nov/Dec.  The future programmes will be a selection of foundation and intermediate level.

In addition to these courses Vectorworks are offering online learning, which enables you to make the most of free training content within Vectorworks University.  They also offer customised one to one training.

Vectorworks University is free to use and offers training for beginners through to experts. It tracks your progress through courses and consists of a blend of video and text-based materials. You will be able to get to grips with the basics easily, so that when you progress to working with a trainer, you can make the most of their expertise to help you tailor your workflow to suit your needs.

Onboarding 

The Vectorworks Onboarding course is designed to help you get up and running with Vectorworks software fast. You will go over basic install steps, resources, and a quick introduction to the program.

The Basics

This guide will walk you through the overall user interface, mouse interaction, and document organization. In addition, we will introduce you to the basic use of tools and commands in the software. You will become familiar with many of basic conventions used in all Vectorworks software products. This guide is recommended for both new and experienced users.

Core Concepts

Learn how to utilize tools, menu commands, and drawing organization found in Vectorworks software. Core Concepts starts from the ground up, teaching you all of the necessary basics needed to become a Vectorworks pro. Make use of 2D and 3D modelling techniques from the start and learn the entry points and correct workflows to help master the Vectorworks platform.

Intermediate Concepts

The Intermediate Concepts course is the best option to help you become proficient with information modelling and integrating 2D drafting skills with 3D modelling. Learn how to utilize parametric tools to quickly generate a design. Improve your workflow and graphic output of your designs and presentation renderings. Also, learn more about layer and class organization, as well as advanced techniques with viewports and section viewports.

Applications on the SSI portal will not be processed. 

Participant Profile:

This training is aimed at crew working in the Film & TV Drama sector that want to become familiar with and improve their existing skills on Vectorworks software.

The first session is a foundation training session. This s the first of a series of four free training sessions supplied and delivered by Vectorworks. Subsequent sessions will be a mix of intermediate and foundation level.

The course has limited spaces, which is based on a first come first served basis.

Screen Skills Ireland courses are open to all regardless of gender, race, religion, sexual orientation or disability.
