Screen Skills Ireland in association with MediaXchange is pleased to offer The International Film Business. This course is offered free of charge to support the Irish creative screen industries impacted by the ongoing situation with COVID-19.

With the challenges we are facing with the future of the film industry this course will offer film professionals a current, informed and accessible view of the possibilities available today and into the future months as we come out of Lockdown.

As the industry evolves ever quicker, making sense of the future of the Feature Film industry is challenging. To provide an informed understanding of an effective approach to Film Finance and to give insight into leveraging the opportunities available, film expert Angus Finney will share his experience and insight as a Producer, Lecturer and Author of the book ‘The International Film Business’, beginning with a module focused on Film Financing – today and into the future.

This online course is composed of three modules covering Film Finance, Development & Production and Marketing & Distribution to help film producers and industry professionals compete more effectively.

Structure:

Module 1:  Film Finance, will focus on funding, co-production and recoupment.  The 8 x 2hr Sessions aim to also address some of the more urgent interests and concerns about the current future of projects and mastering the evolving changes in the Value Chain.

Participant Profile:

Aimed at: experienced independent film producers; and film professionals working in finance, film funds and film commissions, sales & distribution. Participants must have industry track record with at least one paid professional film producing/executive credit. Please note places are very limited and we expect a high volume of applications.
