Course Profile:

In this interactive course, participants will understand what unconscious bias is, how it manifests on and off screen and how to challenge messages and language that reinforce unconscious bias. The course also aims to enable  participants to reflect on how our experiences and privileges shape our biases while providing practical tools required to minimise the effects of personal and organisational unconscious bias.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the concept, types of unconscious bias and how it manifests in the decision making, workplace interactions, content creation etc
  • Challenge messages and language which many unintentionally reinforce unconscious bias
  • Reflect on how our identities, experiences and privileges shape our biases
  • Actively pursue strategies and behaviours that mitigate personal and organisational bias

This 2-day course is aimed at Producers, Directors, Company leaders, HOD’s, Managers, Supervisors, Teams, and anyone interested in fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
