Introduction to Rhino for the Art Department

Course Profile:

This workshop, run in partnership with Screen Skillnet, will offer an overview of Rhino 3D software’s application in the Art Department and offer tips and tools for its effective use. This course is being offered free of charge to support the Irish creative screen sector impacted by the ongoing situation with COVID-19.

The course will cover topics such as 2D Draughting in Rhino, Basic Modelling in 3D, Importing and Exporting Files and Setting up a Drawing.

The workshop will be taught on PC; if a number of attendees work on Mac, this can be facilitated on the day.

The course will include the following topics:

  • The Rhino Interface
  • 2D Draughting Tools
  • Basic 3D Modelling Tools
  • Draughting Layouts
  • Importing and Exporting

Instructions of downloading the software for course will be given to successful applicants.

Participant Profile:

This workshop is aimed at Art Department personnel who are new to Rhino and/or Digital Draughting. This course will be aimed at Production Designers, Art Directors, Assistant Art Directors, Draughtspeople and Trainees.
