Screen Skills Ireland in partnership with Screen Producers Ireland (SPI) are seeking participants for this course, presented by Ibec.

Aimed at giving people managers a practical understanding of how to manage Dignity at Work, Grievances, and Disciplinary procedures and Investigations. This workshop will build on previous Employee Relations and HR events by providing participants with a case-study based approach to managing these procedures. It will also provide an understanding of covid related issues.

  • Dealing with grievance in an efficient manner

Session 2

Dignity at work – Bullying and Harassment

  • Definitions
  • The procedures that should be followed on receipt of a bullying or harassment claim
  • Informal and Formal Procedures
  • The new Code of Practice on Workplace Bullying and the obligations laid out under it
  • Dealing with difficult issues or people

Session 3

Discipline and Dismissals

  • Dealing with a disciplinary issue
  • Two forms of disciplinary
    • The poor performer
    • Gross misconduct
  • The Investigation meeting
  • The Disciplinary meeting
  • Records – minutes or notes
  • Covid-related issues
    • Investigations involving someone working from home
    • Breaches of Covid protocols or government guidance.

Open Questions and Answers Session

Participant Profile:

This course is aimed at Producers, Line Producers, HoDs and Production Managers with a direct involvement in overseeing employee relations activity on productions. Participants must have industry track record.

This course will require participants to engage in workshops/ break out groups and participants will need to be available for the half day. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the course is being offered remotely. As such, participants will need to have access to a webcam, laptop/tablet or other device, and reliable Internet connection.
