Screen Training Ireland and Animation Skillnet are delighted to host an animation masterclass with animation director Jason Ryan.
In many feature houses like Disney and Dreamworks, animators have to get a good first pass of their shots done in one or two days. This way, they can collaborate with their directors and supervisors and address notes to get the best possible quality for the shot and still get it approved that week. In this masterclass, Jason will demonstrate his 2D planning process, reference, setting up the foundation for the shot, breaking the actions down, facial, lip sync and finally polish phase, making sure that at each stage, the shot progress is clear and ready for feedback.
The lecture is designed to demo Jason’s approach to subtle acting and lip sync from planning to polish, and illustrate his techniques on animating a feature level acting shot live.
This masterclass is aimed at students, graduates and animators working at all levels in the industry, and those seeking to enhance their skills in facial animation, lip sync and subtle acting in particular.
Deadline for applications: Thursday 14th July 2016.
